I wrote this newsletter about college student-athletes careers coming to an end and how to cope with it. In my newsletter, I wrote about what an athlete identity is and how it affects the way student-athletes carry themselves, why it is so hard to let go of a sport/the issues that come with leaving/their passion of the sport, and ways to cope with the loss of a sport you loved your whole life. I choose this topic because this is something I deal with on a daily basis and I might even be able to add my own personal experience into it. When I came to Kutztown I knew my playing days were over, between talking to the head coach, the responsibilities of the sport and looking for a job to help pay student loan payments, it made more sense to sadly let go and move on.
